Feridun BAŞAK*, Hüseyin ÖLMEZ**, Cengiz ÖZÇELİK***, Erman AKBULUT****, Faik ÇOKPEKİN***** Purpose: In this article, a case of unhydrotic ectodermal dysplasia in 3 year old boy was reported.
Case Report: A 3 year old boy with unhydrotic ectodermal dysplasia was referred to our clinic for treatment. On clinic and
radiographic examinations, we found that there were only
upper 2. deciduous molars and the germs of upper permanent 1. molars. Maxillary partial and mandibular total dentures were made with conventional methods. Then the follow-up of the
patient was disconnected and he was 9 year old at his second application trying to use the dentures which were made 6 year ago. His anterior lower facial height was decreased and he was unable to use the dentures, therefore dentures were renewed.
Conclusion: His anterior facial height and anterior lower facial height, mandibular plane angle, nasolabial angle and inferomentolabial angle were improved with new dentures. 6 months periodic controls and renewal of dentures every 2 years were planned. Keywords: Ectodermal dysplasiaTurkiye Klinikleri J Dental Sci 1997, 3:99-103
