aOral Diagnoz ve Radyoloji ABD, Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, SAMSUN Fusion is a dental anomaly which arises through the union of two adjacent teeth or the union of a normal and a supernumerary tooth. Fusion occurs more frequently in the primary dentition than in the permanent. In this paper, two bilateral dental fusion cases presented with literature review and also was emphasized its clinical significance. A 7-year-old boy referred to our clinic with dental caries complaint in 2006. Oral examination revealed bilateral fusion between mandibular primary canines and lateral incisors. This connection was named as a Type I fusion. A 6-year-old girl also referred to our clinic with dental caries complaint in 2006. Oral examination revealed bilateral fusion between mandibular primary canines and lateral incisors. Panoramic and periapical radiographies were revealed this connection as a Type III fusion adittionally mandibular permanent lateral incisors were congenitally missing. Bilateral fusion in the primary dentition is very rare condition. When dental fusion seen in the primary dentition, associated permanent teeth could be absent. Radiographic control should be performed for them. Keywords: Tooth abnormalities; fused teeth; deciduous toothTurkiye Klinikleri J Dental Sci 2008, 14:47-51
